How my journey began
As a young, extremely introverted, Chemical Engineering student I had no idea that a career in the spirits industry is what lie ahead. My drink of choice in college was either spiced rum or tequila sunrise, far from the bourbon expert I am more than a decade later! However a lucky internship choice at Brown-Forman in Louisville, KY started me on a path to making history, evolving into a Master Taster and eventually becoming Kentucky’s First Female Master Distiller.
It’s the courage to buck tradition, belief in my ability to grow, and the trust that better opportunities are always ahead if you’re willing make bold moves and take risks that has led me to leave the traditional world of bourbon distilling in Kentucky behind (for now) to blaze a new trail. I am building the first-in-industry mobile spirits laboratory and will take my Kentucky roots on the road.
Inspiration has come from all over the US and my concept for a palate development and bourbon education program, EAVES BLIND, was born. I have always enjoyed sharing and teaching about what I do, so now you can brag about learning to taste bourbon from a real Kentucky Master Distiller. I’ve put together a distiller level education about flavor development, without needing a chemical engineering degree to understand it. I am so excited to take bourbon-lovers on this journey, to be a part of the experience. You will be the first to taste new blends and single barrels I curate for EAVES BLIND members as I take the mobile laboratory on it’s maiden voyage. I hope you’ll join me as a pioneer!
